You've got something in your past you hope never comes up.
The part you skip right over when you tell people where you've been.
You built a whole life on top of it, and every now and then you still go back to make sure it's stayed covered.
You handed it to God years ago. You still flinch every time it crosses your mind.
Let me ask you something. Why do you keep digging up what He already hauled away?
Watch how David measures the distance. "As far as the east is from the west." (Psalm 103:12)
He didn't say north from south. Go far enough north and you start heading south again. North and south meet at the top of the world.
East and west never do. You can chase the sunrise your whole life and never once run into the sunset.
David reached for the one direction that never circles back on you.
That's where your sin went. Carried off in a direction that has no return trip.
This is the gospel, plain and simple. Jesus took the thing you bury, carried it down into the grave, and walked back out three days later without it. It didn't get misplaced. It got removed, on purpose, by the only One strong enough to carry the weight of it that far.
Knowing it's that gone, here's how you live today:
East to west. It doesn't have your address anymore.
That account closed at the cross. Thank Him instead of begging Him.
Tell it when it can help. The thing you bury becomes their way out.
God, You know the thing I'm talking about. The one I hope nobody ever finds.
I keep digging it up like it still belongs to me, and the whole time You've had it removed as far as the east is from the west.
Quiet the voice that keeps dragging me back to it.
Let me believe I'm actually clean, the way You already said I am.
In the strong name of Jesus. Amen.
