We've all asked God for a miracle.
Yours was a real one, the kind you can't fix on your own, so you finally quit trying and handed the whole thing to Him.
The answer never came.
The person you prayed over is still sick, or still gone. The door you begged Him to open is still shut.
One question moves in and won't leave: does God still do miracles, or was that just something that happened back in the Bible?
God asked a version of that question first.
His people were watching their whole world fall apart, and He put it to them straight, is there anything too hard for the God of all flesh.
Catch the two words in the middle of it: "any thing."
Not most things, not the easy ones. Any thing at all.
There's not one situation in your life that lands in His "too hard" pile, because He doesn't have one.
If nothing is too hard for Him, why the silence?
The answer isn't that He ran out of power.
God still does miracles, every day, all over the world. He hasn't lost a step.
What He almost never does is move on our schedule, or in the exact shape we drew up.
We asked for a specific fix by a specific date, and a lot of the time He's doing something deeper and slower than the quick one we wanted.
I've prayed for things that never came the way I asked.
I've also watched God do the impossible so many times I stopped being surprised by it.
Both are true. A lot of times the no I got was Him lining up a yes I couldn't see yet.
I was a gang kid at twelve, and I spent thirteen years locked up. By every measure that world keeps, my life was already spent.
What you're reading right now is a dead thing that got up.
When you ask if God still does miracles, I'm not answering from a book. His resurrection is the only reason a dead man like me is even standing here.
Look at that resurrection close, because it's the biggest miracle that ever happened.
God let His own Son die on a cross and go all the way down into a grave.
For three days it looked like the worst thing had won, like heaven had gone quiet for good.
Then on the third day He walked out, and death has not been the same since.
If God can empty a grave, nothing you handed Him is too hard.
The same God who walked out of that grave is not stuck on your situation.
The realest miracle happening on earth today isn't a healed back or a check that showed up right on time.
Every single day, people who were dead in their sin and headed straight for hell get made brand new and handed heaven, free.
Folks keep debating whether the age of miracles is over while the greatest one alive is going off all around them, one soul at a time.
A healed body lasts a few more decades. A soul saved out of hell lasts forever.
Jesus told a room full of people who were sure their situation was past saving:
"The things which are impossible with men are possible with God."
Luke 18:27 (KJV)
Impossible with men. That's where you're sitting right now.
You've run out of moves.
That's not the end of the road. That's usually right where God gets to work.
I'm not going to promise you the miracle lands this week, or that it shows up looking like the one you asked for.
Sometimes He heals the body.
Sometimes He doesn't, and He holds you through it instead, and only later do you see how much He was holding you the whole time.
What I can tell you for sure is that He hasn't walked away from what you're going through, even in the quiet.
Here's how to keep believing while you wait today:
1. Take it back to Him out loud.
Name the exact miracle you're asking for, plainly, the way you'd say it to a father who can actually do something about it.
He is not annoyed by the ask.
2. Watch for the smaller works, not just the big one.
God is usually moving in ways you'd miss if you're only watching for the headline.
Write down one thing this week that only He could have done.
3. Anchor to the miracle that already happened.
When the doubt gets loud, preach the empty grave back to yourself.
If that one is real, yours is not too hard.
4. Trust Him past your deadline.
Tell Him you'll keep believing even if the answer comes later than you wanted, or different than you drew it up.
PRAYER
Father God, You already know the exact miracle I've been asking You for, and You know how quiet it's felt lately.
There's not one thing in my whole life that lands in Your too-hard pile, and I need to hear that again today.
On the days I look around and see nothing moving, hold my faith up when I can't hold it myself.
Do the thing only You can do, and if it comes slower or different than I asked, keep me steady until it lands.
I'm anchoring myself to that empty grave. If You pulled off that one, mine is safe in Your hands.
